Welcome to Richard Bland College! New Student Orientation is your first big step into college life, and we’ve designed the day to help you feel confident, supported, and ready for success. You’ll get important information, meet the people who will support you, and take care of key steps before classes begin.

Check in begins at 9:00 am for Taking Care of Business Stations
🎤 Orientation Program Begins at 12:45 p.m. All students and supporters will attend one combined track this year.
- Your Investment Matters - Financial Aid and Business Office, Learn how aid works, payment timelines, SAP, and how to stay financially prepared.
- Technology Session - IT Essentials Set up your RBC email, MFA, and Canvas access.
- Student Success Session - Meet your success coaches and learn academic expectations, tutoring resources, and how to read your schedule.

- What is the purpose of New Student Orientation?
Orientation is designed to help new students transition to college life, connect with resources, and take care of any remaining tasks, such as setting up accounts or speaking with campus offices
- Is attendance at Orientation mandatory?
Attending Orientation is highly encouraged to ensure you are fully prepared for the start of your journey at Richard Bland College.
- Can parents or family members attend Orientation?
Yes, family members are welcome to attend and participate in activities designed to help them understand the resources and support available to students.
- What time should we arrive?
We recommend arriving early, starting at 9 a.m., to take care of unfinished business like class registration paying bills or setting up your student accounts. The official program begins at 10:30 a.m.
- How long will Orientation last?
The main Orientation program runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a free lunch at 1 p.m. You may stay after lunch to finalize any unfinished tasks.
- What should we bring to Orientation?
Bring a government-issued photo ID for your student ID card, any documents you still need to submit to Financial Aid or other offices, and a pen or notebook for taking notes.
- Will food be provided?
Yes, a free lunch will be served at 1 p.m. during the Orientation day.
- Where should we park?
Free parking will be available on campus. Look for signage directing you to the designated parking areas for Orientation.
- Will there be accommodations for students with disabilities?
